# Set up GA4 BigQuery Link

> Link your Google Analytics 4 property to BigQuery to export event data for use with SegmentStream.

To use event data from Google Analytics 4 in SegmentStream, you must first set up a Google Analytics 4 BigQuery Link. This guide outlines the necessary steps.

## Getting started

Ensure your Google BigQuery project is ready and billing is set up by following the [Google BigQuery](/project-configuration/data-warehouse/google-bigquery) guide.

## Link a Google Analytics 4 property to BigQuery

This process must be completed by a user with **Owner** access to the Google Cloud project. The Owner role is assigned to the user who created the project, but you can also grant this permission through the [Google Cloud Project IAM](https://console.cloud.google.com/iam-admin/iam) page.

<Steps>
  <Step title="Select your GA4 property">
    Go to [Google Analytics 4](https://analytics.google.com/) and select the property where your data is collected.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Open Admin settings">
    Click on the **Admin** button.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Navigate to BigQuery links">
    In the **Product Links** section, click **BigQuery links**.

  <Step title="Configure the BigQuery link">
    1. Click **Link** > **Choose a BigQuery project**.

    2. Select the BigQuery project you created.

    3. Select the **Data location** that matches your business's region.

    4. Enable both the **Daily** and **Streaming** export types.

    5. Click **Submit**.
